It develops and integrates technologies, applications and services to offer innovative global communications solutions. The company operates its business through the following segments: Core Networking and Access. The Core Networking segment includes three business divisions: IP Routing, IP Transport and IP Platforms. The IP Routing division is a service delivers carrier ethernet, network function virtualization and software defined networking applications and infrastructure. The IP Transport division designs, manufactures and markets optical networking equipment to transport information over fiber optic connections over long distances on land or under sea, as well as for short distances in metropolitan and regional areas. The IP Platform division develops products and solutions focus on communications, collaboration, network function virtualization, customer experience, device management, policy, charging, network intelligence, operations support systems, and related professional services.The Access segment includes four business divisions: Wireless, Fixed Access, Licensing and Managed Services. The Wireless division focus on delivering 4G & long term evolution, long term evolution-advanced overlay solutions and 3G, 4G & multi-standard small cell solutions along with related professional services. The Fixed Access division provides support for both DSL and fiber, allowing service providers to extend ultra-broadband access to the customer's premise regardless of technology and to seamlessly combine copper and fiber access technologies and FTTx deployment models to achieve the fastest return on investment and time-to-market. The Licensing division works to monetize its patent portfolio through licensing and patent sales while also maintaining and prosecuting patents. The Managed Services division portfolio includes build-operate-manage-transfer solutions, operations transformation solutions, and network operations services. The company was founded by Pierre Azaria on June 18, 1898 and is headquartered in Paris, France.
