The Corporate and Other segment comprises of BNI Energy, its coal mining operations in North Dakota; ALLETE Properties, its legacy Florida real estate investment; other business development and corporate expenditures; unallocated interest expense; and earnings on cash and investments. The company was founded in 1906 and is headquartered in Duluth, MN.
