Stocks Headed for a Higher Finish









Stocks are headed for a higher finish in trading today, with all three major indexes currently near session highs. Stocks have been pushed higher by news that Spain is likely to ask for help for its struggling banking system soon.

At last check, the Dow Jones was trading 0.53% higher at 12,526.54, the S&P 500 was trading 0.79% higher at 1,325.40, and the Nasdaq was trading 1.04% higher at 2,860.43.


Technology sector is currently trading leading the gains in the S&P 500 in trading today. At last check, the sector was trading 0.73% higher. Transportation sector is currently trading 0.63% higher. Consumer Cyclical sector is also up 0.63% in trading currently. Conglomerates are up 0.50% in trading currently. Energy and Basic Materials are the only sectors in red in late trading. At last check, Energy sector was trading 0.54% lower, while Basic Materials sector was trading 0.23% lower.

Among the major gainers and losers in late trading today are Molina Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: MOH), which is currently trading 26.39% higher at $22.46, Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), which is currently trading 12.03% lower at $17.85, Francesca’s Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: FRAN), which is currently trading 23.31% higher at $27.51, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR), which is currently trading 4.98% lower at $23.09, Navistar International Corp. (NYSE: NAV), which is currently trading 17.42% higher at $28.31, Genon Energy Inc. (NYSE: GEN), which is currently trading 4.76% lower at $1.60, and Yelp Inc. (NYSE: YELP), which is currently trading 11.93% higher at $19.61.
