The US Stock Markets were up for the day – Dow stood at 12,588.30, up 45.93 points (0.36%),The Nasdaq closed at 2,853.13 up 16.19 (0.57%), and the S&P was at 1,359.88 up 6.55 (0.48%) at close.

New York times reported that JPMorgan Chase and Credit Suisse agreed to settlements with the Securities and Exchange Commission totaling $417 million over their packaging and sale of troubled mortgage securities to investors
Hostess Brands closed on Friday, blaming striking bakers. Making 18,500 workers nationwide out of job

Schiff Nutrition International Inc (NYSE : SHF) 43.76 +9.84 (29.01%). Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc made a surprise $1.4 billion counterbid for Schiff Nutrition International Inc., topping an earlier offer from Bayer AG. Reckitt Benckiser and Bayer are competing for Schiff’s fast-growing vitamins and nutritional supplements business
Penn National Gaming, Inc (NASDAQ : PENN) 48.23 +10.62 (28.24%). First Gaming Company to Split its Businesses into Two Separate Publicly Traded Companies, a Gaming Focused REIT and a Gaming Operator. REIT Would Own 17 Casino Facilities Encompassing Over 3,200 Acres of Land, 6.9 Million Square Feet of Building Space and 20,000 Structured Parking Spaces
OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ : OSIS) 63.94 +9.05 (16.49%). Despite allegations that the company may have manipulated test data, Analysts at Wall Street are firmly backing up OSIS. Few have upgraded and others are reiterating their rating on the stock.
Cyberonics, Inc. (NASDAQ : CYBX) 52.44 +5.84 (12.53%). Cyberonics Inc. (CYBX: Quote) reported second quarter adjusted non-GAAP income per diluted share of $0.44. The earnings were better than the market estimates. The company also increased its full year 2013 adjusted EPS forecast to between $1.56 and $1.62, from prior expectations of $1.49 to $1.59
Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. (NYSE : BKD) 23.92 +2.34 (10.84%). Moving up due to momemtum caused by Penn National Gaming, Inc. Analysts speculation that the same could happen to Brookdale Senior Living Inc.
Losers
Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ : SHLD) 47.49 -10.99 (-18.79%). Sears Holdings Corporation ( SHLD ) reported third-quarter 2012 adjusted loss of $1.99 per share
SINA Corp (NASDAQ : SINA) 45.07 -8.03 (-15.12%). Reuters reported that Chinese Internet company Sina Corp said its fourth quarter will be hit by a softer economy and posted weaker-than-expected sales guidance.
Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE : BBY) 13.75 -1.50 (-9.84%). Down on speculation of weak results. BBY had warned that its latest results would be “significantly below the prior-year period”
Dell Inc. (NASDAQ : DELL) 8.86 -0.70 (-7.33%). Down after the personal computer maker posted weak third-quarter results. Reported that quarterly profit plunged by nearly half.
