Free Pancakes at IHOP for Charity
Pancakes are a favorite breakfast item for most Americans, and for many, International House of Pancakes offers the best and the largest variety. The DineEquity, Inc. (NYSE:DIN) owned restaurant chain was once known for their pancakes only but now they offer lunch and dinner items too. However, regardless of their extensive lunch menu, the public flocks to their closest IHOP for a taste of their pancakes. While the restaurant chain remains busy throughout the whole week, the weekend brings about the additional crowd. Due to their family friendliness, many families gather at IHOP on Saturdays and Sundays to indulge in their favorite breakfast. Pancakes can be ordered as the main dish or as a side dish, and due to their wide variety, one can get just about get any toping they want. In addition to their traditional American pancakes, which are a little smaller and little thicker in size, customers can also order French crepes. The family restaurant has become somewhat of a weekend tradition for families and a place to relax and unwind, after a hectic week. While they enjoy the food, customers get the much needed time to catch up with their loved ones and spend some quality time together. Children love IHOP just as much as adults, and since pancakes are not a daily breakfast item, it is certainly something the whole family looks forward to.
IHOP has also been known to contribute to the community they are based in as well as several charitable organizations. March 1st of each has become known as the National Pancake day, and in order to celebrate the day, all IHOP chains, throughout the country will offer free pancakes. Every customer will be able to receive a free side of their famous short stack buttermilk pancakes. Though this shows their customers how much they are appreciated, the free pancakes also help bring awareness to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals, a charity the chain supports. While customers enjoy a side of free pancakes, they can donate to the charity, which has raised millions of dollars since 2006. This year the restaurant chain is hoping to set a new record by raising over $2.3 million. If you are a pancake lover and you want to contribute the good cause, make sure you get to your closest IHOP early as the restaurants get flooded with customers and late comers will have to wait for over an hour, in order to get their table.
