Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) Quarterly Profit Soars
Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) has reported 96 percent surge in its profits for the third quarter. The company experienced strong performance in its engines and heavy equipment segment. Caterpillar Inc. almost doubled its profit to $1.22 per share from 64 cents per share it had earned a year ago.

The company now expects to earn between $3.80 and $4.00 per share in earnings for the entire year.
Caterpillar Inc. said, “2010 is shaping up to be one of the most significant year-over-year increases in sales and revenues in our history.” The analysts are expecting the company to earn $3.76 per share in the year 2010. The company is expected to register $50 billion in revenue during 2011.
