AnnTaylor Stores Announces Higher Net Income

AnnTaylor Stores Corp. (NYSE:ANN) has reported increase in its revenue from its LOFT and Ann Taylor brands. The company also surpassed consensus estimates. AnnTaylor Stores Corp. earned $24.2 million in net income for the quarter. On per share basis, its income stood at 41 cents per share. The company had earned 3 cents per share or $2.1 million a year earlier.

Kay Krill, President and CEO of the company, said, “While we anticipate a promotional environment in the upcoming months, we feel good about our overall business as we enter the fourth quarter and believe we are well-positioned in terms of our product, inventories, marketing initiatives and our planned promotional strategies for the Holiday season.”

The company expects to earn $500 million in the fourth quarter of the year. Analysts expects the revenue to be at $495 million.
