AMD Signs Up For MeeGo

AMD (NYSE:AMD) has announced it has joined hands for development of MeeGo with the Linux Foundation.

AMD (NYSE:AMD) will assist in the development of MeeGo open source operating system.

MeeGo is being designed for use in smart phones and tablets. AMD (NYSE:AMD) will provide its engineering expertise in development of this open source platform. MeeGo already has the support of Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) behind its development. Nokia (NYSE:NOK) too is sticking with MeeGo and Symbian for its mobile phones. MeeGo will be designed to work with AMD’s (NYSE:AMD) next generation of processors that will help utilize the full power of the chips.
