Former HP CEO Hurd Tried to Persuade Fisher to Have Sex (HPQ)

Mark Hurd, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ), had tried to persuade Jodie Fisher to have sex with him, according to a letter that was ordered to be released by a court.

According to the much contested letter, which was sent to Hurd on June 24, 2010 by Fisher’s lawyer, during dinners, hotel-room visits and other meetings in cities such Los Angeles, Atlanta, St. Louis and Madrid between 2007 and 2009, Hurd kissed and embraced Fisher, brushed his hand against her breast and attempted to start an affair.

Hurd, who is currently a President at Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL), was not found to have committed sexual harassment by HP.

Fisher’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, said in a letter to Hurd, “you had designs to make her lover from the onset using your status and authority as CEO of HP.” Allred also said in the letter, the contents of the letter were first reported by Bloomberg News, “at times you would behave professionally seemingly getting that she was not going to have sex with you. At other times, not and you would relentlessly attempt to cajole her into having sex with you.”

Hurd had resigned from HP on August 6, 2010 as a result of his relationship with Fisher. A investigation conducted by the Palo Alto, California-based company had found that Hurd violated the company’s standards of business conduct. However, the investigation found that Hurd did not violate the company’s sexual harassment policy. Hurd settled the case with Fisher the week he resigned from HP.
