The number of headwinds facing the solar sector has grown considerably. The bankruptcy of several high-profile US solar companies has weighed heavily on solar stocks of late, while in China, environmental concerns are causing a dent in the solar industry’s clean energy reputation.

ENER is a global leader in building-integrated and rooftop photovoltaics. The company manufactures, sells, and installs thin-film solar laminates that convert sunlight to clean, renewable energy using proprietary technology.

FiberTower Corporation (NASDAQ:FTWR) is crashing again today and investors have to stop and ask themselves – where is the bottom on this stock? FTWR last traded at $.24 for a loss of 20% from yesterday’s close and has traded as low as $.22 during today’s trading session. FTWR is trading over 94% off its 52 week high of $4.70!

FTWR is a backhaul and access services provider focused primarily on the wireless carrier market.  With its extensive spectrum footprint in 24 GHz and 39 GHz bands, carrier-class fiber and microwave networks in 13 major markets and master service agreements with nine U.S. wireless carriers, FiberTower is an alternative carrier for wireless backhaul.

SmartHeat Inc (NASDAQ:HEAT) last traded at $.57 for a 6.54% gain from yesterday’s close and has traded as high as $.64 so far during the trading session. The stock is currently trading over 90% off its 52 week high of $6.10.

HEAT is a market leader in China’s clean technology energy savings industry. SmartHeat manufactures heat exchangers, custom plate heat exchanger units (PHE Units) and heat meters. SmartHeat’s products directly address air pollution problems in China where massive coal burning for cooking and heating is the only source of economical heat energy in China. With broad product applications, SmartHeat’s products significantly reduce heating costs, increase energy use and reduce air pollution.
