Stocks Extend Gains in Mid-Day Trading


Stocks have extended their gains in mid-day trading, with all three major indexes near session highs. Stocks are rising on optimism over Greek debt swap deal.

At last check, the Dow Jones was trading 0.53% higher at 12,905.37, the S&P 500 was trading 0.90% higher at 1,364.77, and the Nasdaq was trading 1.04% higher at 2,966.31.


All sectors in the S&P 500 are up sharply in mid-day trading. Industrials are leading the gains in the S&P 500 in trading currently. At last check, Industrials were trading 1.54% higher. Consumer Cyclical stocks are also up sharply in mid-day trading. At last check, Consumer Cyclical stocks were trading 1.50% higher. Conglomerates are currently trading 1.41% higher. Basic Materials stocks are up 1.26% in mid-day trading, while Energy stocks are up 0.91% in mid-day trading.

Among the major gainers in mid-day trading today are Mueller Water Products Inc. (NYSE: MWA), which is currently trading 20.35% higher at $3.43, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: KTOS), which is currently trading 11.97% higher at $6.64, Stanley Furniture Co. (NASDAQ: STLY), which is currently trading 22.35% higher at $4.38, SMTC Corporation (NASDAQ: SMTX), which is currently trading 6.65% higher at $3.53, and AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: AMAG), which is currently trading 9.95% higher at $16.47.

Among the major losers in mid-day trading are Williams-Sonoma Inc. (NYSE: WSM), which is currently trading 4.89% lower at $35.99, and McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE: MCD), which is currently trading 3.12% lower at $97.05.
