Sony Enters Tablet PC Market

Every major electronics company has seen the benefit in designing and manufacturing their own version of the Tablet PC. Even though Apple was not the first company to introduce the Tablet PC, they became extremely popular once they released the iPad. The iPad became an overnight success and the device sold out within days after its introduction. However Apple has not been able to meet every customers needs due to their price point and their overall supply. As a result, they have been able to open up the market to other manufacturers who are able to manufacture and deliver faster than Apple. Though the iPad is popular, it is limited to its functionality and companies have been working on finding a new and improved Tablet PC that would take over as the next great Tablet PC. Until now there have been over 100 different Tablets in the market place, but very few has seen the success that Apple can boast about. While many of them are able to come up with great designs, it seems that their overall functionality and performance are still years behind what Apple has to offer. However the high price of the iPad has made it impossible for each and every individual to go out and purchase their personal Tablet PC. As a result, several companies have been working on introducing a cheaper version, which would include more functions. The Samsung Galaxy has been able to do just that, but due to the size of their screen and their overall functionality, customers continue to search for something better.

As the market continues to keep the demand for the Tablet PC high, several companies have announced that they are working on introducing something a lot more functional than the iPad. In an effort to gain a part of the market share and to be able to cash in on the popularity, Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) has just announced the introduction of their version of the Tablet PC. The company has just introduced not one, but two new models. With sleek designs and top notch functionality, they are hoping to attract their loyal customer base. Both the S1 and S2 types will run on Android platforms and they will work with the Sony PSP too. In addition, they will be able to beam music and programs through the wireless ports to other Sony items. These are certainly great devices for those who currently own several Sony Products.
