Qualcomm Unleashes Dual Core Snapdragons

Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) has just announced about the latest system on-a-chip processors. The previously announced Snapdragon will be nowhere in comparison to the next generation of these snapdragon chips when they come out in 2011.

These chips are based on a 28 nm dual core fabrication technology and are stated to run on 75% less power, with 5 times more performance than its predecessor.

These chips will be essential for smart phone manufacturers to impart the power of a gaming console into cell phones. These chips are also being projected for use in tablets and net books. Currently the market of netbooks is led by Intel’s Atom (NASDAQ:INTC) with NVIDIA’s (NASDAQ:NVDA) Tegra picking speed.
