Floor traders

Floor traders, sometimes called registered competitive traders, individual liquidity providers or locals, are members of a share/stock exchange or commodities exchange. They trade on the floor of the exchange for whatever account they work for. They are governed by the same rules as the specialists who trade on others behalf. Floor traders are different than floor brokers.
