Kips Bay Medical, Inc. was a medical device company focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing its proprietary external saphenous vein support technology for use in coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. Its product, eSVS MESH, was a nitinol mesh sleeve that was placed over the saphenous vein graft during CABG surgery and is designed to constrict the vein and prevent expansion of the vein graft and resulting injury due to increased pressure. The company was founded by Manuel A. Villafaña on May 1, 2007 and was headquartered in Minneapolis, MN.
