Lexmark (LXK) Records Increase in Quarterly Profits



Lexmark International Inc. (NYSE: LXK) has announced surge in its Q3 profits. The company has announced that its quarterly profit increased more than sevenfold. The company has reported its net income for the quarter at $72 million, up from $10 million it had registered during the corresponding time of the last year.

  • Lexmark International Inc. reported its per share net income at 90 cents, up from 13 cents it earned a year earlier.
  • Lexmark International Inc.’ earnings per share stood at $1.09, excluding restructuring and acquisition related expenses.

Lexmark International Inc. was expected to post 98 cents per share in earnings. The company reported 6 percent increase in its revenue to $1.02 billion. The analysts expected the company to register $1.04 billion in revenue. Lexmark International Inc. had earned $958 million in revenue during the third quarter of the last year.

Lexmark International Inc.’s nominated Chief Executive Officer Paul Rooke, said, “Lexmark’s third quarter earnings were better than expected with ongoing good revenue growth, strong earnings growth and strong cash flow. These results were driven by our improved product lines, continued growth in managed print services, and ongoing strong growth in workgroup lasers and higher end inkjet products.”

Paul Rooke has been named to replace Paul Curlander, who has stepped down from his position as CEO.

Lexmark International Inc. develops, manufactures and supplies printing and imaging solutions.
