The Company is engaged primarily in oil and gas exploration, development and production. The Company’s operations are focused on the identification and evaluation of oil and gas properties, and the contribution of capital to projects that produce oil or gas in commercial quantities. Cygnus participates directly in projects as owners of a working interest. It acts as the operator of certain projects, in which it owns interests. During the year ended December 31, 2005, the Company surrendered its ownership in Knox Gas LLC (Knox Gas) and Knox Miss Partners, LP, and transferred its investment in Knox Gas to Touchstone Mississippi LLC.
