China Distance Education Holdings Announces Increase in Quarterly Revenue



China Distance Education Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: DL) announced its results for the fiscal fourth quarter of the year. The company has incurred loss of $2.1 million, down from earnings of $1.3 million it had earned a year back. On per share basis, the loss for the fourth quarter stood at 6 cents per American Depository Share, down from earnings of 4 cents per ADS for the corresponding quarter of the last year.

China Distance Education Holdings surpassed analysts’ expectations of $10.5 million.  The company also took a one time charge of $2.3 million. The charge is related to the decrease in value of options and intangible assets.

China Distance Education Holdings announced that its course enrollments figure was at 402,000 during the quarter. This figure is up 8 percent from the same quarter of the last year.
